a blow up swimming lilo from the poundshop makes a cheaper alternative to a camping bed :) and also is fun to slide down hills on.

i suggest if you`re taking new footwear to start waring them a couple of weeks before hand otherwise you`ll have blisters all weekend. however if this does happen drink a massive amount of alcohol to numb the pain. as for essential kit, sleeping bag, tent, plenty of spare clothes, baby wipes, deodorant(shower in a can) toothbrush/paste. if you can be bothered the local tesco and sainsburys do a mean brekkie and that generally sets you up for the day. (plus decent toilets while you`re their). pick up any beer on the way in so it doesn`t get to hot in the car on the way down also!!nothing worse than warm alcohol.

i always take a small shovel, did a hole, put your cooler in it, and WALA! your food and BEER is cold and fresh all weekend. Makes meat last up to 3 days. But if it smells sweet, BIN IT! tent, sleeping stuff, blowup bed, chair, suncream, firstaid, alkaselsa!!! bogroll, leatherman, ducktape. and wellies,3 change of cloths, extra socks n pants, make up, wash kit, beer and such. thats most of it,lol. Binbags make a brilliant rain coat, hole in top, and slip it on. YAY DRYNESS IN YA POCKET!!!

If you have enough room then bring an airbed, the more comfort the better! Just not at the expense of any useful stuff (alcomahol, tent), if not then a roll up mat is just as good! You aren't related to another of our forum members are you? You just have a very familiar face!

Last year I took LOADS, though I seemed to have enough clothes to last me all weekend, I think I took a change of t-shirt for each day, a pair of jeans, a skirt and some board short type things... I took way too much food. This year, I'm gonna take my stove, and some cooking pots. and buy all the crap I need from tescos, might make life easier. I'll be taking wine and vodka down with me, then buying alcohol from the onsite shop/tescos. I took stuff for the showers, but only used them once. Hats are a good idea! As are sunglasses and suncream. Do you think it'll be worth taking a small bag to take into the arena or shall I just rely on pockets and duct tape?

I personally find bags a hassle to take around (too easy to leave lying around, hassle when in a big crowd, gold for thieves), if possible stick to pockets, or if you're really out there, get a bum bag!

A bunch of us had our first leeds last year and the main problem was that we took way too much food. Bread and peanut butter should do you for the weekend, we wound up just leaving loads of stuff there. And I don't think saw safety pins on the list. It's wierd how many problems they can solve.

First festival for me this year and even though I will be arriving via lovely 150+ mile taxi journey (chepaer than the train would you believe) I aint bring all that stuff in the opening post. Basically i will be bringing a pop up tent (2 second to erect), camping roll, blow airbed. 8 t-shirts, 4 pairs of shorts, some slightly warmer clothes (if need be), wellies (depending on the forecast), about 5 disposable BBQ's, binbags, toiletries, wet wipes. Gazebo  Depending on what day you are arriving it might be pointless bringing fresh meat for a barbie. If you come on Wednesday you can visit the local Tesco and stock on beer, food and other essentials. Especially if you have a pop up tent and are pitched quickly ;) Dont want to be arriving like a pack horse tbh. Even if do intend to leave most of there. Good suggestions are the alcohol handwash, i discovered this stuff when my son was a baby. Brilliant stuff. Shovel sounds a good idea, would need to be foldaway though, or a kids bucket and spade :D Some cheap fags is must. I bet they arent cheap on site.

i'd say you are taking too many clothes i know people think, o i need a diff set for each day but you just give up caring i take 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of shorts, 2 tshirts (and i then i buy one) and a jumper. take more underwear than you think you will need though, and socks. all the clothes are extra space and you find you just wont wear them, no one cares what they look like/what they are wearing.
