Deposit Scheme 08 January 2012 16:16 (permalink)
Just read on Efestivals, according to Melvin Benn , there will be a deposit scheme for the main ticket sale in March. Really good idea I think.
Sorry if anyone has already mentioned this topic

Saw this on the facebook page; really glad! Hoping they release some information on the amount on conditions a decent time beforehand though

About time!  Chances are it'll come with a pretty big price increase too, worth keeping an eye on.

Funny that they've brought it in when the festival has stopped selling out

Oh thank god, I'm going to struggle to get the money together by March, so this would be a lifesaver.

Any idea how much the price increase will be, if there is one? The information seems to give the impression there isn't one, but that seems unlikely.

Just wondering.. Will coach tickets be available with the deposit scheme?

Looking at getting an early bird coach ticket and would prefer to use the payment plan but..

Shame, but looks like if you end up not being able to go your best bet would be to pay it off fully and sell it yourself closer to the date.

I do think it's a great thing though because everyone ends up bankrupting themselves in March so it will be nice to have the option of spreading the cost.

I will be getting mine from Crash or Jumbo though so too bad I'll have to pay all at once D:

                      From the website:

"See Tickets, Ticketmaster and Ticketline will be running a payment plan for customers who wish to split the full cost of buying their tickets into 2 or 4 monthly instalments.
                      Two-part scheme

The initial payment is 50% of face value plus £8.00 booking fee per ticket.

Second payment of 50% of face value plus £5.25 postage fee per transaction (regardless of number of tickets in the booking) at a later date (yet tbc)

                      Four-part scheme

Initial payment of 25% of the face value plus £8.00 booking fee per ticket.

Second monthly instalment at 25% of face value

Third instalment at 25% of face value

Final 25% payment of face value plus £5.25 postage fee per transaction (regardless of number of tickets in the booking).

                      Details

If there is less than four months to go before an event the four-part scheme will be unavailable but the two-part would still be on offer.

If a payment is missed, or you decide you no longer want to attend the festival, a refund on the amount already paid is not possible.
Further details on each ticket instalment plan and the payment dates will be available once ticket prices are confirmed later this month."

Iirc, Ticketmaster has the face value as £192.50 this year, so you're looking at 4x~£50, or 2x~£100

any chance of being able to choose when you pay in the following months? because i'd rather have them take it out on pay day than have to keep it for a few weeks, it would make me want to spend it.

Is this limited to just weekend tickets, or can it be used to buy the full combination of tickets?

For example, if I was to buy 2 weekend tickets and 2 day tickets, could I split the cost of the total, or would only the weekend tickets be eligible?
