Weirdly enough, I find White to be far more chilled out than say Blue which is nearer to the arena.
Wasn't there last year though - is it still fairly chilled?
It seems like it' spretty much empty - I think the residents are too wild and never stay at their tent!

I camped in orange last year but I'm thinking of camping at somewhere else this year as orange was well too calm.
    maybe yellow?

Yellow's pretty great. Busy, but also well looked after by security. Apparently it's not the most lively though, I think that's White (but I may be wrong.)

I dunno man I find White is pretty sound - Blue seems to be where the troube I see happens.

I think maybe cos to get into White you have to arrive early enough so chances are you're a festival veteran and you're really excited about the bands/etc.
But if you get there late then you don't really care that much and just wanna get drunk.
I dunno, it's only a guess at why, but I find it's chilled.

I haven't been to leeds festy for about 5 years, but I went for 4 years in a row b4 that. I camped in yellow for all those years. We aint getting a early permit and won't arrive until about 6ish on the thursday afternoon. I would love to camp in yellow again, but I know it used to get uber full come thursdays. Is it still the same? What you reckon the chances are of squeesing two little tents in on a thursday afto???? xxx

Over the last 3 years I've been, I have camped in orange twice and then on the edge of piccadilly party, which was a good laugh and there was alot going on but also a complete nightmare. Orange is quality, I experienced a good friendly atmosphere both time and the only reason I didn't camp there last year was because we arrived on Thursday evening so it was probably mostly full and we didn't have the energy to lug all our stuff up that big hill of doom.

This is my first time too, and I'm going with about 15 friends. We should be there for 8 o'clock Thursday morning, do you reckon we'll get in Blue or Red?

^ That should be alright! Although I suppose it may depend on how many tents you are planning on bringing.

^There'll be a minimum of 7, depending on whether people want to pair up in a tent or go in a three. I heard it doesn't really get too packed till Thursday afternoon?

Green Camp is the best place ive ever camped...always will do aswell. Yes its a walk to the arena, but in the morning you have had a decent nights sleep because its quiet but you still stayed up late down at the relentless stage and had a ball untill the early hours!

The walk to arena in the morning is the best bit, crack open a can and have two in ya pocket, slow walk through the whole of leeds festival seeing all the sights, have a gander through the shops before the villiage on Blue hill, crack open that nexts can in ya pocket. Go to the supermarket and grab aice cold can from the fridges and have that one as you get the to entrance to the arena. Get to the arena and spend all day in there watching bands and dancing and have a couple of rests on hopefully dry grass eating ya free burger and ya free beer.

Watch the headliner of your choice, got to the relentless stage for a bit of a rave and silent disco for a laugh, go to the supermarket and grab a couple more cans before walking back to your tent in green, stopping of a picadilly party for a boogie till the 3-4amish and then back to your tent for a decent nights kip in green.

Repeat for next 2 days! Simples, If you dont mind a walk then go for green you see everything!

Hey :) I'm 18 and plenty of my friends are coming to Leeds this year, but most of them are volunteering so they won't be camping with me :( my problem is that I'm chaperoning my younger brother and his friends who are all 15, which means I'll probably have to camp with them. Where would be the best place to camp for us? I'd like somewhere lively where I'd be able to have fun, but not too rowdy in case the others get caught up in something and get into trouble if I've gone off to have fun with my friends late at night :)

It would be my first time at a festival in UK, so I was wondering about the camping -  I see everyone arrives a day before the actual festival starts, unlike on Rock Werchter which is in Belgium. If I had to arrive on the 24th, would there be still some space left for me in a lively campsite?  Or would it be better to set up my tent on the 23rd, leave it there and come back on the 24th?

Genuinely don't understand all this fuss about camping in certain areas.

Just because your tent is in one place doesn't mean you can't leave it and visit another area.

The busiest campsites usually fill up by the Thursday which would be the 23rd, so by the 24th there wouldn't be much room in the 'lively campsites'. So it would probably be best to go and set up early on the 23rd.

My husband and I will be taking our son and want to know if there is still a family camping area? Also, what type of tent would be best to bring? I have a tent for camping with two bed rooms etc but could look a bit out of place as it is big. Any Help on this would be great. thanks

I'm pretty sure Brown campsite is designated a family area, I guess it's generally quieter because it's the furthest distance from the arena. I've never been though so can't say for certain, but I have an older friend who camps there and says it's really relaxed and he gets good sleep there. I've seen loads of huge tents at the festival, even in the busier campsites, so I wouldn't worry about the size at all.
I am the one who knocks.

Like the above poster has just said, Brown campsite. There's been plenty of sace there still on Thursday afternoon for the last couple of years so they shouldn't have a problem finding space for a big tent.
