Am I the only one who doesn't think SOAD are headline material? They played pretty low down last time If im thinking right and if its going to be a 'we have reformed, that makes us bigger than before' thing, waste of a slot. I want: Main stage The Smiths Pulp Daft Punk NME Animal Collective Flaming Lips The National Never said it was realistic................

SOAD will never headline Leeds/Reading if they do reform and play it'll be second down methinks they can headline Download. they can headline Sonisphere. but Leeds and Reading? nah. i'd find that incredibly odd (even though to be fair, they could definitely pull it off)

FloorFiller if Green Day, Muse or Kasabian are headlining then i'm just not going Why not just go and see other bands? It's not as if there's only 3 bands on all weekend... :/

i love my Main Stage headliners. no better atmosphere than a crowd of thousands standing in a field at night singing along and i'm looking for excuses not to go to Leeds next year so i can try another festival, so crap headliners will do the job for me!

I can see it being The Strokes/Linkin Park/Eminem Wouldn't mind seeing another band headline a major festival for the first time like Arcade Fire did (Latitude was a great set and they were awesome but it seems the likes of NME and the like have forgotten that festivals even exists unless someone punches a fan). But the only ones i can thing of are Biffy but i can't see them doing it next year. If the next album is popular i'd give Kanye West a shout. I know he isn't as good as he used to be and nothing will top the College Dropout and people would hate the crowd he'd attract but it'd be something different for Reading & Leeds. But then Festival Republic would have to make sure they kept the Leeds spirit in tact by having someone like Iron Maiden headline as well and have a proper heavy metal day to accompany them.

I wouldn't be too bothered if Chilli's headlined again after seeing them in '07 which wasn’t the best set.

soad are easy big enough. Last time they played was 03 were they subbed to metalica. Since then they have grown loads in popularity releasing another 2 no.1 albums in the same year which barely any other bands have ever done. imo they are far bigger than arcade fire. I know this shouldnt really be a factor as such but the fact they will be reforming will be a big pull. I know this forum is a minority of the people who attend the festival but at the same time, the majority of the minority are suggesting soad. Saying that i think they will be at download first. We can wish

Im praying for Green Day I was gutted when the rumours were false this year :( , Muse would be awesome, System Of A Down would be cool but they would probably be at Download if they reformed.

I reckon we're gonna get a bit of a landmark act next year. Someone who is massive. It would be the only reason I'd go back. You might see Kings of Leon again with them releasing a new album, but doubt it with it being so soon since last time. I think Muse is a good shout too.
